I’m Continuously Amazed. Here’s What Got Me Excited Today…

The Desktop CSR now called “CP Manager” is Amazingly VERY FAST On The Internet!

Before we did the complete re-write of the system at the first of the year to bring all of the programming languages and environments fully forward so they’re all completely current I was not happy with the speed of the system. I very clearly told the programming team that the speed of the system affects an agency’s productivity so to figure out why it’s so slow (in my opinion) and fix it!

Excitedly, they listened (they always do) and did a complete overhaul on the system to speed it up. Today, this system is fast!

It’s so fast I can hardly tell the difference between the hosted version and the network version based upon the speed which is shocking, to say the least.

Pretty consistently once a system is hosted online it gets very slow. Over the years I’ve talked to a lot of agencies who complain about how slow their web based system opens window and how slow data flows through the system.

That’s because your download and upload speed is no where close to how fast a network runs. With networks today running at gigabyte speed (1,000 mbps both directions) and the average internet connection running at 20 mbps for download and 5 mbps for uploading, you can see very quickly why a network is so much faster … 20 mbps vs 1,000 mbps. That makes a network 50 TIMES faster.

The bottom line is, no matter how you slice it a network system will always be faster than a internet based system.

Even with our CP Manager system it’ll run faster on your network than on the internet, but not by much after this re-write we just did. I’m just beside myself I’m so happy with the performance and speed of our CP Manager when ran from the internet.

To prove just how fast this system is I did a quick video from our family lake cabin demoing the speed. At our lake cabin my internet speed is terrible! In fact, to get an internet connection with my broadband card for my laptop I have to hook it up to a booster and use an external antenna. However, even with the booster it’s still not very fast.

How fast?

My download speed is .63 mbps and my upload speed is .40 mbps … Less than 1 mbps for both downloading and uploading. That is very slow!

Now, before you watch the video, let me share something with you. The screens you’re going to see are still under development. They are not completed yet.

However, because I’ll be closing up the lake cabin for the winter in the next few weeks I knew my time down there was limited. I also knew this was were I’d get the slowest internet connection. Therefore, if I wanted to demo the speed of CP Manager on a very slow internet connection, I knew I had better do it now before I closed up the lake cabin for the winter, so I did even though the windows weren’t done and we still had a lot of work to do on the system.

The point is, over look the windows because they’ll look a lot different when we actually release the system in the next few months.

Here’s the video. Check it out to see just how fast this system is from my very slow internet connection at the lake cabin …

One of the things we did to increase the speed of our system is we have virtually no images in the system. Not buttons, no where! Although images make the system look better images slow down the opening of a window and we put “speed” above “looks”.

I’m certain you’ll be very impressed and very happy with the speed of CP Manager.
